The Internet Is The Closest Man Has Come To Being Omnipresent
The internet has broken lots of odds and changed the way a lot of things used to be done. It has presented to us a trillion more opportunities that we couldn’t have without it.
Nowadays, whenever you mention the internet people are inclined to think you mean either Google or Social Media. Do you think that way too?
Even though this thought is not far from right, it is an understatement to say the internet refers to google and social media. It actually goes a long way to encompass smart devices being able to communicate with each other and many more things that you may not even imagine.
Have you heard of driverless cars?
Do you know that this couldn’t have been possible without the presence of the internet?
Geographically, every country has a boundary which separates it from the other neighbouring countries. This also applies to the various continents. To be able to cross over one country or continent to the other, you need to meet certain requirements.
Unfortunately, not every individual is able to meet such requirements. But there is this infrastructure that allows you or gives you the opportunity to achieve this without much requirements.
This infrastructure is the same old internet that we have been talking about. With the help of the internet, you can now have access to any country you want. You don’t need traveling tickets or even move an inch to get this done.
Right on your smartphone or computer or any internet enabled device, you will be able to communicate and execute some actions in various parts of the world in real time.
Also, you can simultaneously appear to people in different parts of the world at the same time. What do you call the ability to be present at different places at the same time?
Omnipresence! Yeah, you guessed right. This means that the internet has brought us close enough to being omnipresent.
The concept of the internet, being the closest, man has come to becoming omnipresent is not originating from me. I heard a role model of mine in the person of John Obidi, a young Nigerian who has done well to build a very strong personal brand for himself say it.
Daddy JO as most members of his group Headstart Africa call him, made mention of this fact during an interview he granted on TV about 6 years ago.
He explicitly explained that with the help of the internet, we can now travel anywhere even into people’s living rooms and communicate your message with them using just your smartphone.
After hearing this from him, I gave it my own thoughts and I must admit that I totally agree with him on that. I believe that the internet has given us some invincible wings to fly and we are able to fly at the speed of air.
During my recent webinar and from the comments I have received from most of my YouTube videos, I have realized a number of my audience are outside Ghana.
Everything I have done so far was done right here in Ghana but a number of people outside Ghana have seen these things as well.
Did I have to travel to the individual countries to show them what I do?
No, that wasn’t the situation. I sat in the comfort of my home and was able to reach these countries with the help of the internet.
The internet is very powerful and as such we have to make sure to use it to the fullest.
The number one question that I have for you is: Why are you under utilizing the internet then if you know that it is so powerful?
With the help of the internet, people are even able to study from universities in countries they have never travelled to before.
So, if all you do on the internet is to surf various social media platforms and watch people’s statuses then go off to gossip about them, then you are just wasting a precious resource.
You should also note that the internet is not available in every part of the world at this point in time. This means that it is a privilege to have access to the internet.
I have been asking myself this question for a while, how are those people without access to the internet able to survive? Can you imagine living without the internet?
At this moment, some people are even fighting that the internet be officially recognized as a basic life requirement just like water and oxygen.
I strongly believe that it is actually a basic need of life whether it has been officially accepted or not. The recent worldwide pandemic has even brought to light how important the internet is to our everyday life.
You should therefore, starting from now, make a conscious effort to maximise your use of the internet. People are creating their presence in places they cannot even go themselves. Some are also making lots of money off this same internet.
It is time for you to also reap some of the benefits of this gigantic infrastructure of the 21st century called the internet.
Have you heard of the Internet Of Things (IoT) and Internet Of Thoughts? The internet is actually advancing with time and I just mentioned these to inform you about their presence. I will delve more into them in subsequent posts.
